"It is essential the community is given the opportunity to understand and influence the plans and it is the socio-economic committee which provides this opportunity. With the prospect of new nuclear developments this committees role is paramount if the industry and the community are to mutually benefit from a nuclear renaissance."
The Socio-economic sub-committee provides a forum for the members of the committee to scrutinise the socio-economic implications of the NDA and Site Licence Companies’ activities. It also gives the opportunity to scrutinise the socio economic proposals of Nuclear Management Partners, the Parent Body Organisation for Sellafield Ltd.
