LLW Repository sub-committee

Message from Sue Brown, Chair

"It is important that people know exactly what is going on at the LLW Repository and this is one of the reasons that the LLWR sub committee was formed. The meetings act as an interface between the community, the site operators, the regulators and the NDA and give the opportunity for representation of local community interests."

LLW Repository sub-committeeThe Low Level Waste Repository Sub-Committee considers all aspects of the repository site at Drigg.

  • NDA
  • Future of LLW disposals especially from decommissioning
  • Socio-economic issues: identify and feed into process

Community Prospectus

Copeland Borough Council produced a Community Prospectus. The document informed the bidders for the LLWR contract of what the Community expects from them and what the Community can offer to the new operator. This has been done in agreement with the NDA.
