URGENT - POSTPONEMENT OF WCSSG MEETING
Regretfully, I am writing to inform you that the the decision has been taken to postpone the WCSSG meeting scheduled for 6th October at Cleator Moor Civic Hall. The decision has been taken for the following reasons:
Members from Copeland Borough Council, Allerdale Borough Council and Cumbria County Council are all away on a visit relating to the Managing Radioactive Waste Safely (MRWS) process and are unable to attend the meeting.
The NDA has requested that the dates of the meetings are re-examined to better reflect reporting periods - therefore providing a better opportunity to provide succinct written reports within the timescales dictated in The WCSSG terms of reference.
Third and by no means least - our Chairman, David is unfortunately in hospital and at this present time is not able to Chair the meeting - leaving us without a Chair or a Vice Chair.
Collectively, these considerations have resulted in the decision to postpone.
I am extremely sorry to those members who have already sent in their reports for the meeting, and for those who are in the process of compilation.
Further information will be circulated to members when we are in a stronger position to ascertain a future date.
I'm sure you will join me in wishing David a very speedy recovery.
