The first event of the West Cumbria Sites Stakeholder Group was held at Maryport Civic Hall in the evening of 7th July 2005. It was a 'Drop in' event, similar to that held by its predecessor, the SLLC, in Whitehaven the previous year. The event was well publicised and stands and representatives were available from most of the main organisations involved with the four West Cumbrian sites. In 2004, the SLLC held the first 'Drop in' day at Whitehaven Civic Hall. It ran from 10.00am to 5.00 pm and the theme was Nuclear Site Plans. These outlined the scope of work required at Sellafiled from now until the end state of the site.
