Environment Agency Consultation on Regulation of LLW at Drigg
The Environment Agency is starting consultation on its proposed future regulation of the Low Level Radioactive Waste Repository at Drigg.
In order to assist the consultation process it has drafted an explanatory document which sets out proposals for the future regulation of the LLW repository. A copy of the document can be obtained from the Environment Agency either by telephoning 01768 215722 or by downloading from its web site at www.environment-agency.gov.uk/yourenv/consultations. The documents can also be viewed at local council offices and local libraries.
The consultation started on 15 June 2005 and runs for 12 weeks, ending on 7 September 2005.
The West Cumbria Sites Stakeholder Group will be compiling a response and asked for any comments to be forwarded to the Secretariat by the end of July in order to incorporate into the response. Please respond to:

Tthe Environment Agency also held two 'open days' to provide an opportunity for interested people to go along and ask questions about its proposals. The open days were on
