The Community Engagement Coordinating Sub-Committee was formerly called the Sellafield Lifecycle Baseline Sub-Committee. This was established in February 2004 in order to assist the local community by providing a better understanding of Sellafield's Life Cycle Base Line (LCBL), and providing an opportunity to engage in meaningful involvement and make informed contributions.

The Sellafield Lifecycle Baseline set out the steps required in order to return the Sellafield site to a green field site over a period of years. Cllr Elaine Woodburn, Leader of Copeland Borough Council chaired the committee.

A brochure was produced which provided an overview of the future of the nuclear sites at Sellafield and Drigg and the effects of the changes on West Cumbria. Click here to see the document.
